What insurance do photographic studios need?

In our opinion as an absolute minimum studios should consider;

  • Equipment and camera insurance
  • Buildings insurance (if you own the studio outright)
  • Tenants improvements (if you lease the building, but have invested in improvements to the premises)
  • Liability (usually both public and employers’ liability). Crucial if you rent or sublet the studio. And equally important if third parties enter the studio for shoots.
  • Professional indemnity

In reality our photographic studio policies provide far more than basic insurance. They also include a number of complementary covers exclusive to Williamson Carson which are detailed on all quotes we prepare.
